Pupdate: GCR Daisy

Hi Suzy! I hope you are having an amazing week.

I have an update for my cutie pie. Little Daisy (GCR MFR Scotty x GCR Joyfull - Aug 2022 litter)) is getting bigger. She's about 13.5 pounds now. When I first took her home, she was 11.1 pounds.

She is starting to do "sit" without the lure. She needs to work on sitting from a down position though. She still needs a lure for that. Her down is also good with a lure. She can do these inside and outside on the sidewalk. She also knows "leave it" which is sometimes hard for her to resist the food, but she amazes me with her willpower.

Good behavior update: She cut down gnawing on people and clothes dramatically though once in a while needs a quick redirection to a chew toy. She sits patiently while I get her food out. She doesn't try to eat her brother's food anymore. Her loose leash walking is much better. She was very nippy and loves shoe laces, but she is easily redirected to sits or downs with positive reinforcement.

The first week was tough for her older brother. He would run out of whatever room she was in. But now he loves her. If someone approaches her without letting him vet that person out, he barks to let them know he's watching. They love wrestling together and if I put her in her crate, he lays down right outside her crate and barks a little bit asking her to come out and play.

I signed up with Kim and Absolute Dogs Training. She mentioned a couple days ago that

she is going to get me a playlist. I'm excited to see what it is like.

Next Thursday is Daisy's first vet appointment. She should get her shots and microchipping.

Here is a picture of Daisy from last night.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Love,

Janak, Jamie, and Daisy
