After two and a half years of dedicated training, Huck has officially validated as an Avalanche Rescue Dog Team through the Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association (CARDA).

Avalanche search and rescue is one of the most demanding working disciplines a dog can pursue. Success requires exceptional intelligence, athleticism, confidence, environmental stability, an incredible work ethic, and an unwavering partnership between dog and handler. Teams must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in challenging alpine environments where every search has the potential to save lives.

Some Border Collies chase ribbons. Others help save lives. Every one of them reminds us what this remarkable breed is capable of.

This remarkable achievement is a testament not only to Huck's natural abilities, but also to Sarah's countless hours of dedication, training, and commitment. Together, they have built the trust and teamwork required to earn validation as an operational avalanche rescue team.
