GOLD CREEK RANCH

Our Story

Lee & Suzy Foss

Gold Creek Ranch is more than the place we call home – it's part of our family's history.

The ranch has been in the Foss family since Sam Foss Sr. purchased it nearly a century ago. Over the years, it has been a place where generations have worked the land, raised livestock, and built a life rooted in hard work, stewardship, and a deep appreciation for animals.

In 1982, we began our own chapter of that story, continuing the ranching tradition while pursuing our shared passion for breeding exceptional animals.

Nestled in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of western Montana, Gold Creek Ranch has long been home to horses, cattle, and Border Collies. For more than 45 years, Suzy dedicated herself to breeding Egyptian Arabian horses, while continually expanding her knowledge of genetics, animal behavior, and thoughtful breeding practices. Those decades of experience laid the foundation for what would eventually become Gold Creek Ranch Border Collies.

Today, our focus is devoted entirely to preserving the Border Collie.

Every puppy is ranch-raised, carefully socialized, and given an intentional start through our Puppy Development Program. Our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, and every decision we make is guided by the same principles that have shaped our program from the beginning: preserving the breed, educating their people, and building lifelong partnerships.

While much has changed over the years, one thing has remained constant – our commitment to raising exceptional animals and supporting the families who welcome them into their lives.

We consider it a privilege every time a family entrusts us with helping them find their next Border Collie. Whether one of our dogs becomes a trusted ranch partner, a Search & Rescue teammate, a therapy dog, or a beloved companion, we never lose sight of the responsibility that comes with every puppy we raise.
